The Altar Guild of St. Augustine's
The Holy Eucharist is the center of the liturgical life of God’s people. The primary responsibility of the Altar Guild is to ensure that the Lord’s Table is meticulously prepared for all Eucharistic services, church festivals, and special liturgical events.
Duties & Responsibilities
Members of the guild work devotionally in pairs to maintain the sanctity and beauty of the altar space:
Sacred Linens & Vessels: Preparing, cleansing, and preserving all linens, vestments, and altar accessories required for Communion.
Preservation of Rites: Ensuring the care, beauty, and proper handling of all sacred articles in accordance with the traditions of the Episcopal Church.
Floral Arrangements: The guild's convenor coordinates and orders flowers to enhance all worship and liturgical services.
