The Evangelism Commission supports the congregation in its mission to “Reach Out in love to bring help and hope to those in need.” They provide “Hospitality Bags” to those who visit our worship services. The members make Manna Bags with hygiene items, toiletries, a pair of socks, and a snack item for those who come to our church doors seeking aid. Those who come to the Lord’s house seeking help should not be turned away with empty hands. The Evangelism Commission paired with other church organizations to sponsor a Fall Festival for the community. We are a commuter church, with not many of our parishioners living in the surrounding neighborhood. The Fall Festival gave us at St. Augustine’s the opportunity to meet and greet the people of the East End. The church parking lot was filled with people enjoying, without cost, the “bounce houses, face painting, games, food, drinks and free blankets for each child. We wanted meet our neighbors in love and say, “Hello.”
